Head Prefect

As Head Prefect, I’m incredibly proud to represent Charles Darwin School and to give back to the community that has helped me grow massively throughout my time here.
I study A-level History, Politics, English Literature and German, and outside the classroom I’m passionate about making sure young people’s experiences are heard. Through my work with the mental health charity South East London Mind, I have helped develop mental health resources and workshops for students, while my role with the Childhood Bereavement Network has given me the opportunity to contribute to national discussions around bereavement support for young people, particularly in school settings, and to have my views heard by people in Parliament and the NHS.
These experiences have shown me just how valuable and powerful young people’s voices are, and the change they can create when they are given the opportunity to be heard. Charles Darwin School is a school that listens to its students, and I look forward to working with students and staff on a range of things that include recognising how important good mental health and wellbeing are to school life. I believe that wellbeing and achievement go hand in hand, and that students are much better placed to reach their full potential when they feel supported and listened to.
As Head Prefect, I want to bring this into school by being someone students can talk to, making sure different perspectives are represented and helping turn students’ ideas into things we can make happen.
