Kijito Upele, our partner school in Zanzibar

Please help us to support Kijito Upele, our partner school in Zanzibar.

In July 2016, a group of staff and Sixth Form students visited Kijito Upele for the first time. Click here to read more.

In July 2018 we returned to the island of Zanzibar, Tanzania, Africa with a group of 22 students.  Whilst there, we taught and carried out community work to support the students of Kijito Upele.  The school has a student population of over 3,900 students, aged from seven to fifteen years old, with up to 200 children taught in each classroom, learning without tables and chairs, sitting on the floor.  Click here to read more.

In July 2019 we will once again be returning to Zanzibar to volunteer with our partnership school, Kijito Upele, where staff and Sixth Form students will work together to make a real difference to the Zanzibari pupils they work with.

Whilst the most important work we will be carrying out whilst we are there is teaching, we would like to be able to take some resources for the school and to support our teaching.  Over the next few months we will be carrying out several sponsored challenges and our hope as teachers is to raise some funds to support the school.  Any little help will make such a difference to this community.

If you can make a donation towards these resources please visit our fundraising page by clicking here.
