This is of course the first cohort to have sat GCSEs since 2019. We would like to congratulate all of our students on making it through their Key Stage 4 courses. We all know how hard it’s been at times, but also how hard they have worked.

Today marks many personal achievements, with some students having been on an incredibly tough journey over the past couple of years and we are proud of the resilience they have shown.

We would like to mention a few students who have achieved exceptionally highly, starting with Keira Dukes who gained nine grade 9s, a truly outstanding achievement.

Harry Burch: four grade 9s, three grade 8s, one grade 7 and one grade 6

Madeline Broadley: four grade 9s, four grade 8s and one grade 7

Georgina Walker: three grade 9s, four grade 8s and one grade 6

Lara Bell: six grade 8s, two grade 7s and one grade 6

Our overall attainment, as measured by Attainment 8, is up this year compared to 2019.

We have many students that made exceptional progress since starting with us at Charles Darwin School and we would like to mention a few of them recognition of their exceptional hard work and attitude  to learning: Aidan Williams, Liam Wescott, Lara Gok and Evie Williams

“It is a great privilege to be able to pay tribute to our students, individually and collectively, not just because of some truly excellent grades but also for their commendable attitude to learning over the past couple of years. It is important to mention the good working relationships that are such an important feature of the life and work of our school. Such grades would not have been obtained without the professional approach and of our staff and the encouragement of parents. I am looking forward to welcoming the majority of this year group back into our sixth form and for those that are moving on to college or apprenticeships I wish them the very best for the future.”
