Safer Internet Day
'Let's Create a Better Internet Together'
During the week students across all year groups will be involved in various activities showing how we can create a better Internet. In years 8-11 students will create an internet site designed to highlight what we can do in order to 'Create a Better Internet together', which is the theme of this year's Safer Internet Day. They will highlight useful links and resources as well as some going on to create videos and animations to add to the site. The site will also include their big idea which will help create a better Internet.
Students' across all year groups will also discuss topics such as how the internet has made things better, what can be done to make the internet better and arguing the notion that websites and services that allow you to communicate anonymously have made the internet a better place.
Year 7 students will read a book entitled 'Digiduck's Big Decision' and look at creating their own characters and storyboards to highlight the risks and dangers of some aspects of the internet.
Parents play a vital role in the E-Safety education of their children, through promoting safe use of technology at home. But many parents aren't aware of what they should be telling their children about staying safe online.
