This leaflet gives details of the lunchtime and after-school enrichment activities that will run on weekdays during the autumn term 2017. Students in Years 7 to 9 will also take part in enrichment days towards the end of summer term. Those in Year 10 take part in work related learning activities over the same period and will have a Mock Interview on Thursday 19 July 2018. The purpose of the enrichment programme is to supplement students' academic studies, to inspire them, to develop a sense of teamwork and problem-solving skills and give them an opportunity to try something new. STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Maths) Club is run in conjunction with the National STEM Centre and is open to students in Years 8/9/10.
In addition to the planned extra-curricular clubs, drama, music and dance have regular performances, both in school and outside productions and concerts. Details of these events are published in year group assemblies and in the drama, dance and music departments. Details of trips such as the annual ski trips, visits to Iceland, France and further afield such as Zanzibar are all publicised within school.
Students participating in sporting events will take part in local and regional competitions. We are proud winners of Kent Cup trophies in rugby, as well as boys and girls football. Trips and clubs do fill up fast so please ensure that you have an active ParentPay account and that students sign up as soon as possible.
